i landed in Bidong on Nov 19, 1978, boat #156...spent 18 months at the island. There is a couple of unhappy dudes on this board... guys, consider we are passing through earth as a journey...please make good use of it and leave a good name as an individual or collectively as a group, if you can. Regardless of what happened, I want to thank the Malay govt and the folks there who tolerated the uninvited boat people for a decade or so.

aberserk9, appreciated your thoughts and thanks to Germany, Norway and other countries' govt/commercial vessels that had rescued countless lives...thanks to United Nation Red Cross and the Malaysian Red Crescent for for foods/aids.. I was one of those fortunate refugees to be given a second chance...survived the Thai pirates, Malaysian police "push back" to sea... "duarius", you sound like an extremist...hope "good things" will happen to you soon.

AttiladHun Please do not compare an apple and Orange. Philippines acts towards others based on its Christian human values, sometimes to a fault....but they behave very positively towards others the best they can. Not a rich country but rich in human goodness in general. The kindness of Filipinos is their strength.
