I like Kauffmann, but I'm used to hearing a lighter voice as Cassio (like Michael Schade or David Cangelosi). He'll make a bang-up Otello soon though. As for Jago, I can only imagine that Paris Opera had been using him forever and knew that he wasn't great but reliable. The voice really needs to be retired when you get a big ol' wobble in it like that. I hate these "Eurotrash" productions! I'm all about making opera relevant, but only if it makes sense to change time/place.

Beautiful voice... but he stole the show with that overacting?... oh please!!! Someone that drunk would´ve drop to the floor and could never be able to stand up again. The whole scene is ridiculous.

bons chanteurs surtout jonas kaufmann,mais la mise en scène est ridicule, je déteste ces productions.voir otello a la moderne je regrette mais je ne suis pas capable ces metteur en scène manquent d'imagnation
