Fuck off with the damn genre pissing contest. Why bother. Classifying a band into a certain genre is a PERSONAL PREFRENCE. Dosen't matter what genre you say, someone is going to disagree, does it make either of you wrong? NO, it just makes you're idea of a certain genre diffrent from other peoples ideas. so, stop. It's awsome, who cares what kind of metal it is.

Monotheist is definately a step up from cold lake that's for sure.. But I think Celtic Frost died after their first few albums Unlike Hellhammer, celtic frost decided to continue and write some of the worst albums of all time. It's really too bad Tom Fischer is the man

Same goes for metal though. A song about raping corpses isn't just a reflection of social ills, it's a celebration of violence. Some metal bands are deep and reflecting upon the darker side of human nature, but many aren't very deep at all.
