lol, he'll lose to the winner of mir and nog, if he fought couture maybe 2 or 3 years ago he probably would have lost as well. i definitely do not see him beating fedor, hell i bet he'd lose to hong man choi if they were allowed to fight on that k-1 card.

exactly, japanese warfare was basically a bastardized version of chinese warfare. it placed an emphasis on group formations and tactics rather than the individual charge/melee, with a high focus on ranged combat and mobility. much more like modern warfare than what was going on in medieval europe at the time.

Also remember that giant sword was for guys wrapped up like canned goods. So even if it didn't cut it was like being hit by a hammer. Heavy weapon against heavy armor. Japan went light and fast for lighter armor with less protection. The classic speed vs mobilty evolution.

hmm, so you're saying that brock lesnar would beat someone like fedor just because he's bigger? that's what tim sylvia said and it only took the russian 37 seconds to end him. while i think speed and agility are also important you two are missing one of the most important part of kendo or any combat sport for that matter: intelligence. knowing what your opponent will do before he does it, preparing properly before the fight, proper game plan etc.
